Marques et al describe the very first steps of neuronal maturation in the Drosophila central brain. They show that while terminal differentiation genes, such as ChAT, VGlut, and Gad1, are transcribed very early, their translation is delayed and coordinated by the developmental stage of the animal. Wiam Gabel joins the lab as an M1 student from the Masters Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire at the Université Paris Cité. Wiam did his undergraduate studies in Biology at the University of Creteil.

Nouhayla Er-raysy joins the lab as an M2 from the Masters in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics at the Université Paris Saclay. Nouhayla did her undergraduate studies in Biology at the Université Mohammed Premier in Oujda, Morocco.
