Welcome Marie-Charlotte!

Marie-Charlotte Devagourou joins the lab for her M2 project. Marie-Charlotte studied Life Sciences at the Université Paris Saclay, where she also stayed for her Masters in Cell Biology and Development. Marie-Charlotte will work with Marianne to investigate the regulation of the end of the temporal series.

Isabel’s paper was published today in Biorxiv!

Isabel’s last paper from the lab of Claude Desplan focuses on the role of temporal identity and Notch status of Drosophila optic lobe neurons in neuropil targeting, connectivity, and visual function, linking developmental patterning to adult brain architecture and function.

Leonardo’s last day

Today was Leonardo’s last day in the lab. He stayed for almost a year, first as an M2 student and then as an Ingenieur d’Etudes and worked on the three-dimensional reconstruction of single-cell mRNA sequencing of the developing optic lobe using Novosparc.

Carlos’ PhD paper was published today in Open Biology!

Carlos, during his PhD with Isabel Almudi and Fernando Casares, investigated gill regeneration in the mayfly Cloeon dipterum, uncovering accelerated growth driven by uniform cell proliferation and conserved molecular pathways to Drosophila regeneration models. link

Welcome Claire!

Claire Julliot de la Morandiere joins the lab as an ingénieure d’études. Claire studied Biology at the Université Paris Saclay before obtaining her Masters from the Sorbonne Université. Claire will study temporal transcription factor expression in different insects.

Welcome Carlos!

Carlos Martín joins the lab as a postdoctoral researcher. Carlos did his PhD in the labs of Fernando Casares at the Andalusian Center of Developmental Biology and Isabel Almudí at the University of
Barcelona. He studied the mechanisms of gill regeneration in the mayfly Cloeon dipterum.

Marin Alric joined the lab for a 5 weeks internship and will be working with Marianne. He is a biology student at the Paris-Saclay University in the Bioplus academic path.
