Today we ran and walked at the Course des Héros in support of La Ligue contre le cancer.

Julien Truong presented today his project during the Apprentis Chercheurs symposium. Julien is a high school student from the Collège Camille Claudel. He was supervised in the lab by Rebekah. Congratulations to both you!

Tuba Balta joins the lab for a 2-month summer internship. Tuba is a Neuroscience major from the University of Chicago.

Elsa’s paper from her Masters is on Biorxiv. In it, they study the evolution of conserved non-coding elements in teleosts. Congratulations!

Marques et al describe the very first steps of neuronal maturation in the Drosophila central brain. They show that while terminal differentiation genes, such as ChAT, VGlut, and Gad1, are transcribed very early, their translation is delayed and coordinated by the developmental stage of the animal. Wiam Gabel joins the lab as an M1 student from the Masters Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire at the Université Paris Cité. Wiam did his undergraduate studies in Biology at the University of Creteil.

Laïla Aboutine joins the lab as an M1 student from the Masters Biologie Moléculaire et Cellulaire at the Université Paris Cité. Laïla did her L3 in Biology at the Université Paris- Est Créteil.

We celebrated Rebekah’s doctoral fellowship in an Escape Room where we managed to find the treasure on behalf of the Assassins’ brotherhood in the apartment of one of Cardinal Lemoine’s descendants in 57:21

Nouhayla Er-raysy joins the lab as an M2 from the Masters in Bioinformatics and Biostatistics at the Université Paris Saclay. Nouhayla did her undergraduate studies in Biology at the Université Mohammed Premier in Oujda, Morocco.

Rebekah is awarded a BioSPC doctoral fellowship to pursue her PhD in our lab working on the development and evolution of temporal patterning in the fly visual system. Congratulations Rebekah!
